Here’s another example of spring in Michigan.

Ah, Spring!

Spring is a time of rebirth. Except in Northern Michigan where it’s a time of afterbirth. They say that the fruit crops do well on the northwestern side of the state because the delayed spring prevents trees from flowering too soon. This is all well and good if you happen to be some kind of fruit tree, but for your average Michigander April is a time to head for the sun.
So why did I head from the sun? Good question!
Half of my siblings and their families are visiting my apartment in Burbank. My kids are enjoying Easter egg hunting without me, and my wife is spending our 13th anniversary with her laptop. OK that last one isn’t really unlike other anniversaries, but I’m usually in the same room at some point.
No, I’m here because there was a break in the schedule at Disney. YES! Yet another fringe benefits of having one of those 9 to 5 jobs. ( and when I say 9 to 5 I mean 8 to 7)
Sill there’s a lot to be done here. I haven’t been in my house for six months and I can see a lot of things that need to be taken care of.
But, on a snowy day like today maybe I’ll just sit here, pet the four hundred-year-old cat and look out the window for a couple minutes.
